Myspace marketing schemes.

MySpace has created a new and innovated interfaced that has captured me and many of my friend’s attention.  Former Spotify users were even shocked at how easy MySpace was to use. Many were impressed that there were less ads than Spotify in general. The flashy new MySpace features a scroll screen. This was adopted from the new Microsoft windows 8 operating system. In 2009 Microsoft and Myspace teamed up to offer over 100,000 mp3‘s for free to kick start the website.  Currently they have 53 million tracks making it the largest music and video library. To promote marketing they have teamed up with BudLight to do 50 concerts in 50 states.  Bringing in many famous artists, they plan for this to become an annual event.  (They include Kendrick Lamar, Sublime with Rome, Alex Clare, the Flaming Lips, Drive-By Truckers, the Gaslight Anthem, the Airborne Toxic Event, the Dirty Heads, Capital Cities, Citizen Cope, Coheed & Cambria, Gogol Bordello, Mastodon, Machine Head, Halestorm, Under the Sun Tour, Guster, the Mowglis, Minus the Bear, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Best Coast, Frank Turner, Wavves, the Hold Steady, Corey Smith and Portugal. the Man.  )   MySpace plans to live stream al 50 concerts on their web sight, and mobile app devices.

I think that this is a very effective way to not only market MySpace out to the community. As the Vp of marketing for Budlight says “What you want to do is have the opportunity to do something that can reach a large audience and in a global way and be something that we a scale across the country. This is a perfect example of something that we can do and bring this kind of experience to our drinker.” They are providing an enjoyable time where casual drinking is accepted.  This is a very smart tactic where they will offer free drinks and promote beer. Social media wise this can spread very rapidly not only through MySpace but Facebook and twitter, through the creation of an event.  The article is here:
